There are many forms of meditation, many cultures use it as part of their lives. I have tried a variety myself, the idea of being able to still your mind, relax, yet stay focused on just one thing and let the world pass you by is very appealing.
People pay thousands of dollars to reach this state, but what a surprise it was to actually be in that state by looking after my bees. When you open a bee hive and you are confronted with 30,000 bees all looking up at you guess what? Nothing else in the world exists just you and those bees. Time actually stands still, and it has been many a time that I have finished with the bees thinking I hadn’t spent much time but 2 hour have gone by in seconds. So for those of you that might like to try something not just challenging but also spiritual, beekeeping may just be the thing.
